Department of Education, Netaji Nagar College for Women, aims at overall growth, development and progression of students. We enable learners to prosper, by ensuring a healthy teaching learning environment. Education imparted in a healthy environment enlightens and nurtures young minds. Classes are conducted in ways that encourage students to participate in their own learning. Our mission is to promote student’s achievement by enhancing and balancing the efforts of our students. Our aim is to impart wisdom and enlightenment to help in the development of the learner in all aspects. We have ‘motivated and well behaved students, excellent faculty members and updated course curriculum’. Concerned with students’ welfare, we promote improvement in student- teacher interaction to give them an opportunity to discover themselves. Our aim is to bring out the best in them by helping them expand their vision and perception of life. We identify student’s potentials and guide them in accordance with their skills and abilities so that they perform their best. Students who do not perform well are given extra care, guidance and assistance to make sure that they acquire profound knowledge in the subject. Classroom sessions are made lively with use of videos and pictures and ITC to further their knowledge in the field. This helps them identify with real life situations. Students always feel comfortable in sharing their views and opinions, expressing their doubts and sharing their feelings with the teachers. To encourage increased involvement and accountability of parents and students, we hold parent teacher meetings. The department of Education organizes conferences, seminars, departmental programmes and joint projects, and makes arrangements for annual awards competition and certificates for participants. We also undertake educational visits to Manavikas Kendra, Blind schools and organize visits to Museums, Jorasakho Thakurbari, Vivekananda’s House. We love our department because it possesses all the qualities of an ideal department.
